Introduction and about me.

Welcome to, 'Steve's bit on the side', a place where I ramble, talk, discuss, argue or raise issues which interest me and perhaps others.

My title image reflects much of what interests me.

I work on the, 'Phylogeny Explorer Project' and a related facebook group.

I've had a varied career. Decorated Serviceman, Store manager, Customer services, Businessman, Property invester, Co-director of an (award winning) IT business, Teacher, Volunteer and Parent.

I have a BA (Hons) in Theology/Philosopy from Russell group, Manchester university (2002) and a PGCE from Leeds university (2003). I gave up an MA in Education at UCL - the IOE (2007) to take up a new teaching position. I have undertaken other post graduate studies too, e.g. in Autism.

I'm Autistic, have two school aged daughters, I was born in 1962 and I live in SE London.

I have been close to publishing educational resources and enjoy the whole aspect of teaching, but (despite ten years experience), find full time, full class teaching and everything which goes with it, too stressful as an Autist. I am very innovative and an idea’s person, able to organise, manage and see things through to the end. I am able to find cost saving options, create new, self-funded positions and apply myself in a range of environments, roles and situations.

I'm currently looking for an income/paid work which suits what I like and can do, and for this, I am willing to be flexible.
